Praying for the Next Generation

At the missions conference for Cornerstone Baptist Church in Roseville, Michigan, we went to a small group study at the home of this lady. Her name is Bernie. Bernie taught us a lot. Bernie is 84 years old and came to Christ when she was 70. She is a ball of fire for the Lord. She has a counseling ministry, opens her home for a small group study, and is a vital influence for those who come in contact with her. Susan and I went to her home one night for the small group study and she told us that she had been praying for the next generation because kids were overlooked. She told us that we were the answer to her prayers. What a delight! What a thrill! How humbled we were! Bernie has been praying for the next generation. Although she came to Christ late in life, she knows that we have to reach the children for Christ. That night, Bernie taught us a lot, but the most important thing that we took away from her home was that the next generation is vital to everyone, even if you are 84 years old! Thanks, Bernie! We thank God for your example.
